EMPOWERING WOMEN

through service & Advocacy

We envision a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision-making positions on an equal basis with men.

Zonta is an International service organization of business and professional women working together to empower women and advocate at the local, state, and international level. We pledge ourselves to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women.

Advocacy

Zonta advocacy is action taken in "the public interest" of for "the greater good" with respect to empowering women and girls and promoting and protecting their human rights. Here is Cape Girardeau, action is taken on an international, national, and local level.

Take Action

Service

Zonta not only advocates for women's human rights and gender equality in all facets of life, we also support projects to empower women and girls to understand their rights and realize their full potential.
Education provides the tools and resources to empower women to make decisions about their lives and the future of their families.

Fundraising

Financial support to various organizations and funding for our many service projects is made possible through the generous support of local sponsors and our fundraising efforts. 100% of all funds that are raised are donated to the various service projects we support.

Membership

We love our community.  Growth and retention in membership is key to our success.  New recruits that share the goals of Zonta bring new ideas and plans; retention develops knowledge and allows members to become an integral part of Zonta.  Recruitment and Retention are at the heart of the membership committee.

Women’s rights are human rights, essential for the development of all people.

Why we are a part of Zonta!

Working in a predominately male field, I am humbled by the women acquaintances and friendships I've made through Zonta.

Casey Brunke
City Engineer for Cape Girardeau

I have been in Zonta for 35 years.  Zonta's mission of empowering women through service and advocacy calls to me.  We have made an impact both locally and internationally.

Polly Holten
Retired Engineer / Manager at Procter & Gamble

I love Zonta. I have been part of Zonta for the past 11 years and was drawn to Zonta because of our unwavering support of women's education, support of local organizations, and the ability to make difference in women and the lives of others.

Dr. Kimberly Keser
Saint Francis Healthcare - Cape Primary Care

I'm so proud to be a founding member of Zonta.  I have met so many wonderful ladies that I would not have met otherwise.  I love all the projects that we do; helping so many people.  I enjoy being on the service committee and helping with the vo-tech graduation ceremony.

Mary Scherer

More than five years ago, I made the decision to join Zonta because of the magnificent women I have met and have seen first-hand, they ways we are impacting women locally and around the world.  I look forward to remaining a Zontian because there is still so much work to be done.  Together, we're stronger and can accomplish great things.

Casey Crowell
Vice President / Director of Business Development at The Bank of Missouri

Raising strong women is very important to me.  This is why I love Zonta.  After all, everyone knows it's the women who get everything done!

Kristy Nordin

So grateful I joined this group with one friend and gained so many more.
