The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau, like other Zonta chapters, engages in fundraising activities solely dedicated to supporting women and children within our community.

Through the generous support of local sponsors and our club's fundraising efforts, we are able to direct 100% of our funds that we raise towards empowering and uplifting these vulnerable populations. Whether it's advocating for women's rights, providing educational opportunities for children, or supporting initiatives to combat gender-based violence, the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau is deeply committed to making a positive impact within our community and beyond, focusing on the well-being and advancement of women and children.

Women of Achievement Luncheon

The sole mission of the Women of Achievement Luncheon is to honor the volunteer service and leadership of women. 

Chartered in 1976, the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau is the oldest organization to recognize the significant contributions of women for their dedication and commitment to the region. Over 120 women have been selected from nominations submitted by individuals, organizations and the community. The honorees represent a diverse group of women in our community and are recognized each November at an awards luncheon for the lasting impact each has made on the region. 

The generous support of corporate and individual sponsors enables Zonta to recognize these deserving women and provide funding to organizations that improve the lives of others locally and worldwide. Additionally, the support of this event has been overwhelming, with more than 500 attending each year.

Zonta Flea Market

For the past 30+ years, this event has been known as the “Neiman Marcus” of flea markets. 

The Zonta Flea Market, accompanied by Cafe Zonta, stands as a vibrant community hub where locals gather to browse treasures and indulge in delicious treats. This annual event, organized by the dedicated members of the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau, not only provides a platform for individuals to buy and sell goods but also serves as a significant fundraising endeavor.

As shoppers peruse through the eclectic array of items, from antiques to handmade crafts, they are greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delectable pastries at Cafe Zonta.

Here, amidst the lively atmosphere, visitors can relax, socialize, and refuel while supporting a worthy cause. The proceeds generated from both the flea market and Cafe Zonta contribute directly to the club's initiatives aimed at empowering women and children in the community, exemplifying the spirit of generosity and community engagement upheld by Zonta.

Wine Spot SEMO District Fair 

At the SEMO Fair, nestled amidst the bustling festivities, lies the Zonta Wine Spot, a hidden gem for wine enthusiasts and fairgoers alike.

Operated by the dedicated members of the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau, this charming spot offers a delightful selection of wines, providing a refined escape from the excitement of the fair. Amidst the colorful lights and cheerful laughter, visitors can unwind and savor a glass of their favorite vintage or discover new flavors from local wineries.

The Zonta Wine Spot not only adds a touch of sophistication to the fair experience but also serves as a fundraising venture for the club's initiatives. It's a reminder that amidst the fun-filled attractions, there's also an opportunity to raise a glass in support of a worthy cause.
