BECOME AN INFORMED ROLE MODEL TO OTHERS

We are working towards a future where men actively stand against sexual assault. One of our current initiatives, "Men of Courage," brings together key community organizations, including Safe House of Southeast MissouriSoutheast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence, and

Southeast Missouri Suicide Prevention for a men’s breakfast event. Our keynote speaker, Obbie West will speak passionately about the importance of advocacy and how vital it is for men to get involved in preventing violence.

We're excited to host several key events in partnership with Obbie West, coinciding with Sexual Assault Awareness Month. These will include sessions with high school students, a "Walk a Mile" event for Greek Life students, and a Men of Courage breakfast. Each of these events is designed to get men involved in meaningful conversations about violence and help create long-term solutions to end it.

By working together, we can create a future where men are not just bystanders but active participants in the fight against violence.

Tuesday April 8- Wednesday April 9, 2025

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This is a time for advocates, survivors, their loved ones, and the community to come together to talk openly about sexual violence to support survivors, increase knowledge and awareness, and identify strategies and resources to prevent sexual violence.

Obbie West is an international spoken word artist, advocate, and author.
He travels the world as an educator, trainer, and speaker using poetry to tackle tough topics such as abuse reduction and mental health.

Our efforts are inspired by Jackson Katz’s
The Macho Paradox, which stresses that educating men is just as important as educating women if we’re ever going to reduce violence. We know that without more men actively engaging in this fight, we won’t see the lasting change we’re striving for. This is why we're committed to fostering a strong community of male allies who are ready to challenge harmful behaviors and work towards a safer, more respectful future for everyone.
